The Squad

Hello all. Most anyone that knows me knows that my entire life I have always had a passion for animals. I tried so many times when I was younger to get my parents to let me have a cat but being the rule follower I am, when I brought one home and they told me to take it back, I always did. The farthest I got was hamsters, but never the cat I wanted. When I was a senior in high school, my sister brought home a cat. She wasn’t always the rule follower I was so when she was told no, it needed to go back, she just left it in the house. That cat soon became my first furbaby BFF Tyler. Another year went by, and she brought home Bear. I finally had my cats I always wanted. Those two boys lived their lives with me, and then with Walt and I until after 17 years, they went to live at the Rainbow Bridge.
Many years later, I found myself following a rescue on Facebook. I was very excited to join this organization as the mission of helping abused, neglected and special needs animals really pulled at my heart. I have spent 8 years with The Devoted Barn and have narrowed down my passion. I feel most passionate when I can care for orphaned or special needs kittens and puppies. It absolutely has changed my heart.
My first tube fed puppy was Frankie. Prior to that I would help with bottle babies, but the tubing always scared the heck out of me. I took the plunge and had Melissa teach me how to tube feed, and it has changed me ever since. My heart has belonged to these babies in need since June of 2020 when Frankie was 8 days old, and I took him home with me for the first time. Over three years later, that passion still burns inside of me, and it is time to do something about it.My friend Amanda and I have been doing some independent rescue for a few months now. We have been working together since April 2023 to foster kittens from all over the Tri-County area. Well, she has been doing it for years, but I jumped in with both feet. We also have some amazing friends that have joined the foster journey with us. Last week, we had a good long talk about it and decided that we wanted to make it official and that is how Frankie’s Rescue Squad was born.

If you know me you know that my love for animals is huge. Animals have been part of my life since I was just a wee one. I TNR'd my first cat at 19 and fostered her kittens til they were adopted. Quite a few years ago I got more involved with rescue and started fostering cats and kittens. I took my first mama cat foster in and that changed my world. I had always loved animals but something about kittens drew me in. I've now independently fostered over 70+ neonate kittens the last few years. I love the constant change and learning new things. And let's be honesty kittens are adorable!
That doesn't always mean it's easy peasy. There are days you struggle, are overwhelmed and tired but seeing a kitten thrive is extremely rewarding. There are so many cat's and kitten's out there that need help. Its constant messages from people looking for help. Its hard to do that on your own. I've met some like minded people who I'm now proud to call friends through the years and this year we have all banded together to help one another. We all have the same passion so we decided to take our passion and turn it into something real. We signed papers to open our own 501c3 rescue called Frankie's Rescue Squad. We will be taking in orphaned and special needs kittens and puppies. Thank you to all my family and friends and adopters in the past(and hopefully the future) for your support. We can't do this without you! Much love!!

Good afternoon family and friends. As my close family and friends know, I have always loved animals. I have been involved with a rescue for about five years and have recently gotten the opportunity to be a part of a new rescue two friends have started. I wasn’t sure how it would fit into my life, to be up every few hours feeding and the fun mess of teaching kittens how to eat wet food, but after raising my 1st bunch of 4 kittens starting from the age of 3 weeks until they got adopted at 8 weeks, I fell in love and had what I would say was empty nest and can’t wait to do it again.

A few of you know that I started volunteering at a rescue a little over three years ago. I was feeling a bit "stuck" from the shutdown and needed to be a part of something productive. It was the perfect situation; it was outside and I could help take care of and snuggle up on a bunch of cats. Fast forward a year or so later and I realized that fostering kittens was something I really enjoyed doing. It's so fun and rewarding to watch these little guys learn to navigate life.
Some of my friends have recently started a new rescue, Frankie's Rescue Squad, and I'm so excited that they've asked me to be a part of it. Please check out our Facebook page and give us a Like/Share. Thanks! -

Everyone who knows me, knows I have a passion for animals. A few years ago, I started volunteering with a rescue group. It is there that I learned that my passion truly lies with special needs and neonates.
I have made some amazing friends along the way and a few of them who share the same passion that I do have started a brand new rescue that will specialize in orphaned, special needs and neonate kittens and puppies
I am so excited to watch this group grow and flourish into something amazing.
I will be mainly fostering special needs puppies for them and I'm so happy to be a part of this. The work is so rewarding to me! -

Hello! My name is Jillian. I started fostering at the end of 2020 fostering puppies. I eventually switched over to cats and fell in love with the littles. My primary focus is pregnant cats and kittens. Being able to work from home has allowed me the amazing opportunity to foster these babies and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Everyone always says to me “I don’t know how you do it, I would never be able to let them go.” The way I look at it is for every kitten I take in and “let go” is another chance to save others.

I have always been drawn to animals. As a kid, the strays always somehow found me. I got involved in 4H and I felt like I had finally found my people. The smell of a horse barn still makes me nostalgic. As I got older, I absolutely loved having my own pets. Their unconditional love always humbled me. My first cat was a rescued barn kitten and we had a bond like no other. That's where my love for cats took root. The years passed and I eventually got into rescue. I had always wanted to foster but knew nothing about it. The opportunity to take in 2 pregnant cats at the same time presented itself. I jumped in with both feet. Between the 2 of them, they had 11 kittens 4 days apart. I was in heaven and I was hooked. Within the rescue I was involved with, I found an outstanding mentor who never got tired of my questions and always calmed my fears when there was a medical issue. She encouraged me and my fostering endeavors and now I have fostered over 50 cats and kittens. I have learned so much and I continue to learn with each new foster. Toe beans, a soft purr and a cat in my lap is what makes me happy.

I've always loved animals since I was very young, so when I got a chance to tag along with my friend Devon to help feed some cats at a rescue she had been volunteering with, I jumped at it. All of our cats have been rescues so it was a natural fit and I enjoyed each visit. Some months later we were asked to foster a kindly gent named Liam, and I fell in love with fostering. Helping our little furry friends find a forever home brings me more joy than anything else! I'm happy to join my friends in fostering and to be a part of Frankie's Rescue Squad.
